Career Services Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences

Heymansgebouw GMW

The Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences provides you with various forms of career guidance. First are the course units in the curriculum that aim to increase your awareness of your career process. Second, various course units in the programmes use guest lecturers from the professional field and you will do ‘real-life’ assignments from the professional field. For an impression of the course units, please refer to the various prospectuses .

In all BSS programs you will do one or more internships; the ultimate opportunity to gain practical experience and discover for yourself how you feel about working as a professional in a specific field. Recently, Career services BSS has started a series of workshops `how to search for an internship` for master students of Psychology. In the future, after an initial evaluation, these are likely to be offered frequently for BSS students.

Activities

On the career site of the BSS student portal (login required) you will find all kinds of practical career related information. From orientation on yourself and your own career to alumni profiles per program, information on the job market, what you can do during your studies to increase your career-oriented skills and gain practical experience, practical tips on networking and applying for jobs to a BSS database with internships.
Be sure to visit the annual BSS Congres in May. Besides interesting lectures and workshops by professionals from the field, you will find plenty of opportunities to broaden your view of the field and network through the presence of all kinds of companies.
