About Studying in Groningen

Starting a new stage of your life is scary and exciting, starting this new stage in a new country is even better. Believe me when I say, Groningen will make you fall in love the moment you set foot outside Central Station. The city presents a wonderful mix of Dutch and international culture, you will not find a language barrier and if any problem arises, someone will always give a helping hand. Choosing the University of Groningen was one of the best decisions of my life.

I chose to study a BSc in Economics and Business Economics with a focus on International Economics and will continue with a MSc in International Financial Management. Despite the fantastic atmosphere of the city, Groningen is not the only reason I’m staying. By picking the RUG, you are picking one of the top 5% universities in the world as it is now AACSB and EQUIS accredited, it is also one of the leading research universities worldwide. Every course is up to date with current events, you are prepared to work independently but also to manage team work, ready yourself to be challenged constantly. There is an endless stream of events, guest lectures, parties and meetings to develop a network and discover new opportunities.

In a nutshell, after Groningen you are prepared to face the competitiveness of the job market and succeed in whichever field you chose, while having a great student life.
