Having lived for the last four years abroad in seven different countries enabled me to see much of the world, but at the end I have very positive and fond memories of Groningen.
About stuying in Groningen
I am 24 years old and I studied International Economics and Business Economics. My studies at Groningen was amazing, very challenging, but on the other hand it prepared me very well for the job market and provided me with lots of knowledge and opportunities.
I am enthusiastic about the university, the city and the lifestyle here. This goes so far that I actually missed Groningen more than my own home town when I was on exchange in Taiwan. I lived in five different apartments in Groningen and feel like I know the whole city and half the people studying here. Last summer, when I was home I even tried subconsciously to manipulate my German friends to study here. I was part of multiple student organizations, such as EBF, Risk, Marug, The Knickerbockers, etc. I like to talk and get to know people from various backgrounds and have the tendency to attract attention. Having lived for the last four years abroad in seven different countries enabled me to see much of the world, but at the end I have very positive and fond memories of Groningen.
During my time in Groningen I attended multiple events and particularly parties which made me late, tired and unprepared for classes once in a while, but I managed to become an Honours student and proved that it is possible to have a lot of fun in Groningen, but not to forget your duties at the same time. I even secured a position at the university, which helped me to pay my bills, books and to some extend my student lifestyle.
