The lack of vitality and health among our residents is an urgent social issue that can no longer be ignored. The impact on our economy, healthcare and the right to a dignified life requires this fundamental choices and decisive action.

Key insights:

• Health disparities are increasing, with major consequences for work pressure and economic strength.

• Healthcare in the Northern Netherlands is under immense pressure; scarcity and wait times exceed critical standards.

• Behavioral change alone is not enough. Legislation, cooperation and preventive investments are indispensable.

Our call:

• Make clear choices and put health at the center of all policy areas.
• Enact legislation to discourage unhealthy choices.
• Shift budgets from care to prevention and invest in youth and families.
• Use the Northern Netherlands as a leader in this transition: we are ready to work together towards a healthier Netherlands.
