Support the Arctic tern!
Animal ecologist Maarten Loonen is studying the Arctic tern, a sensational bird that travels from the North Pole to the South Pole and back again every year, some 70,000 km. The Arctic terns need to be fitted with a geolocator for the research project. Costs: 500 euro per bird. 40,000 euro is needed to conduct the study for a number of years. With the support of the Ubbo Emmius Fund of the University of Groningen, Loonen has begun an adoption project to collect the necessary funds. Would you like to support the project?
The weekly online video magazine Unifocus highlights topics related to the University of Groningen in the fields of research and society, student life, teaching, policy and internationalization.
