Stellenbosch University and the University of Groningen are committed to the internationalization of higher education and to building sustainable and equitable partnerships for the benefit of students, staff, and society.

Isabel Weinhäuser finished a double PhD degree from the Universidade de São Paulo and the University of Groningen. In this article she shares her experiences.

On 5 April 2023, President Jouke de Vries welcomed his counterpart Rector Enrique Graue Wiechers of Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) to the University of Groningen.

Marieke van Vugt, assistant professor in the Bernoulli Institute for Mathematics, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Groningen (UG) visited the UGs strategic partner university, Universidad de Chili. She establised connections with counterparts in her field and interesting ideas for future collaboration emerged.

On 1 and 2 December 2022, a UG delegation led by Prof. Jouke de Vries visited Stellenbosch. During the two days, counterparts from University of Groningen and Stellenbosch University had the opportunity to engage with one another and to discuss areas of collaboration to further strengthen the partnership between the two universities.

Strategic Partner Universidade de São Paulo (USP) in Brazil invited the University of Groningen to participate in the celebration of its internationalization program (PrInt), taking place on 23 November 2022.

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of formal relations, Osaka University and the University of Groningen signed a strategic partnership agreement to strengthen their collaboration. In this agreement, there is a specific focus on contributing to the shared societal challenges.

During a high-level meeting in Yogyakarta, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) and the University of Groningen (UG) signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement, enshrining mutual commitment to strengthen and expand the already long-standing and fruitful collaboration.
