Race in Academia Collective: Meet and Greet

The Race in Academia Collective is hosting their inaugural gathering on June 3rd, 2024, from 15:30 to 18:30 at the University of Amsterdam.

This event aims to unify self-identified racialized scholars throughout the Netherlands, fostering connections between networks, initiatives, groups, and individuals. This includes students, academic staff, non-academic staff, lecturers, PhD researchers, and postdoctoral researchers, who self-identify as having been excluded because of their skin color, religion, ethnicity, ability, and migration status (among other markers that intersect).

The event will be a casual meet-and-greet designed to cultivate a relaxed environment, encouraging open and meaningful exchanges. Highlighting the afternoon is a creative interactive activity from 16:30 to 17:30. The agenda is intentionally open to promote a collaborative atmosphere where ideas can flow freely—enjoy engaging conversations over complimentary drinks and snacks, all while building a vibrant community.
