Confidential information

University of Groningen staff members may have access to confidential and personal data. All staff members are sworn to confidentiality, in accordance with Article 1.16 of the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU) . This obligation continues to apply after the end of a staff member’s appointment.

Privacy

Everyone is entitled to have their personal life respected and protected, and to have their personal data treated with care. The rules concerning this matter are set out in the EU General Data Protection Regulations. Staff members and students are also entitled to know which personal data is being used by third parties, and to what end. The UG has appointed a Data Protection Officer who can be consulted as an independent advisor in these matters.
