The new In the Science podcast episode is out! The guest in this episode is Mike Dee. He is associate professor of Isotope Chronology. We talk to him about the research in which he and Dr Margot Kuitems demonstrated through radiocarbon dating that Europeans (Vikings) were present on the American continent as early as 1021 AD.

Upon publication of the research, it was breaking news. The New York Times , CNN and National Geographic , among others, brought out the news. Although it was already known that Vikings arrived on the American continent before Columbus, an exact dating was not yet possible. This research changes that.
